Roman Imperial, Caracalla (198-217 AD) AR Denarius, Rome mint, 'VICT PARTHICA' (Victory in Parthia) type RIC 314a, RSC 656b, 3.23g, VF. This commemorates a false victory against Parthia which Caracalla reported to the senate whilst commiting many atrocities in the region. He was assassinated whilst urinating at a roadside. The Parthians regrouped and forced his successor Macrinus to pay reparations of approx. 50 million denarii.
