Provenance: In email correspondence (2012), the artist identified this as a piece `left behind in a flat I used to rent` in Glasgow. Watt identified the male model as Brian and also vouchsafed that the subject verso is `not a self portrait` and `is not painted from life`. *CR Good condition; a few very minor surface blemishes.
