Medal - Commemorating the Death of George Canning 1827, by Chantrey and Stothard, Struck in bronze, 112.7g, housed in original fitted case.
George Canning was a senior Tory Statesman who served in many Cabinet positions and finally as Prime Minister in 1827. His tenure of 119 days in office made him the shortest-serving prime minister in history, a title he held for 195 years until Liz Truss' premiership in 2022, which lasted 49 days.
