A Royal Canadian Engineers Gibraltar medal, or watch fob, the back stamped B26346 L-Cpl M Amyotte BJ, an unofficial presentation which was a private venture with the cost borne by James Y Murdoch, President of Noranda Mines, with the key/medal being minted in Canada, this is a uniquely Canadian military award, which was originated for a unique Canadian military group - the Canadian Army Tunnellers, on 27th March 1943 General McNaughton presented the keys at a special parade to the 324 men and officers of the Canadian Tunnelling Companies, who worked on the fortress at Gibraltar
