We came here with 600 and odd bayonets and of the half are fit to march we shall have been the most fortunate corps here - the 13th Lt, Infantry came here something much stronger tha n ourselves and have 80 marching....Simmons is gone with 60 men up the river in the steamboat to reconnoitre some stockades.
