* Lucienne Day (1917-2010) - A set of three curtains circa 1963: with red, white, black and yellow geometric pattern on a dark green colour ground, 226 x 251.5cm, 231 x 254cm and 233.5 x 251.5cm, detail showing (some wear, holes and white paint spots). * please see www.bhandl.co.uk for further images of this lot. *Note These curtains were purchased in 1963 to compliment Robin Day (1910-2010) furniture and remained hanging in the same property in Exeter until 2019. * Biography Lucienne met Robin Day during her final year at the RCA and they were married in 1942. They began producing textiles and furniture from their flat at 33 Markham Square in Chelsea. Her most famous pattern is 'Calyx' produced for Heals for the 1951 Festival of Britain.
