A Coco De Mer nut (Lodoicia Maldivica), of polished form, 24.5cm wide
Provenance: Wykey House
The nut shows surface patina, surface wear and surface scuffs commensurate with age and handling. The flat side of the nut appears to have been marked out with a square on each lobe, and small areas of the marked square appear to have been incised or pierced. Each square appears to have had a small square piece inserted on one edge.
