Original vintage travel poster for Glasgow featuring text in calligraphic style lettering with an illustration of the historic city buildings, notable people, river Clyde and coats of arms, the quotes above by Daniel Defoe 1704 - "Glasgow is the city of business with the face of foreign as well as domestic trade...the four principal streets are the fairest for breadth and the finest built that I have seen." and John Macky 1723 - "Glasgow is the beautifullest little city I have seen in this country; it stands deliciously on the banks of the River Clyde..." and the surrounded text reading - Lord Kelvin Adam Smith Lord Clyde Shipbuilding Commerce Industry Sciences Lord Lister James Watt John Napier Art Music Drama Parks Cinemas Sports.
