£280
A mid-19th century Austrian Biedermeier grande sonnerie striking rosewood wall regulator - c.1850, the case with front and side glazed panels, bevelled cornice above an arched door with carved foliate spandrels, the 6¼in white Roman enamel dial signed by 'Helbig & Kreutz Wien', with decorative cast brass bezel, the single weight driven, three train, grande sonnerie movement with arched plates, deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, with ebonised wood rod pendulum, with winding key, 95.5cm high.
Lacks weight, so we cannot say if the clock is in running order. The case is in good, lightly restored condition overall, although it is missing the carved cresting from the top of the case. The two brass adjuster screws to each side of the case are different, so one has clearly been replaced with a period replacement. The dial has a few small chips to the enamel around two of the winding holes. There are no hairlines and no restoration to the dial.
