Silver Guinea Pig Club Brooch in box. These were worn by families of Sir Archibald McIndoe’s “Guinea Pigs” a name given to servicemen who had received horrific burns and underwent experimental plastic surgery. In 1941 a special ward known as “The Sty” was set up in Ward III at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, Sussex.
