The third generation Fiesta Mark III was unveiled at the end of 1988 and officially went on sale in February 1989. The car was based on a new platform, ditching the old car's rear beam axle for a semi-independent torsion beam arrangement and looked radically different, addressing the principal weakness of the previous generation which was the lack of a 5-door derivative. The XR2i was launched in August 1989 with an eight-valve CVH (standing for "compound valve-angle hemispherical combustion chamber") engine. This was the first Fiesta to have a fuel-injected engine.
This XR2i comes with full service history up to 36,746 miles and also comes with every MOT from 2005 onwards. It has recently had centre and rear exhaust sections replaced with receipts to prove it and verifying that the mileage is genuine. It has also recently had all spark plugs replaced, new air filter, new fuel filter, oil filter and an oil change, and a new Cambelt with receipts to prove.
This has been a much loved car and has been very well looked after. The vendor states that it has got brand-new showroom condition interior, the bodywork is in fantastic condition, and the engine is in excellent condition.
