A Large Islamic Copper Basin with Arabic Calligraphy, Dated 1437 Hijri.
An Islamic basin made of darkened copper, extensively inlaid with silver inscriptions in bold thuluth script. The form is deep and flaring, with a wide rim and tapering body, resting on a circular foot. The body is richly covered in calligraphic phrases, including invocations and religious expressions, bordered with stylized vine motifs.
The base of the vessel bears a clear inscription in Arabic:
Zadeh Yurd — likely the name of a workshop or artisan group —
Hijri 1437 — equivalent to 2015 CE.
Contains phrases such as: “Glory is to God”, “Well-being”, “Sovereignty belongs to God” and other blessings invoking divine might, protection, and grace.
