A Chinese Famille rose vase, Republic period or earlier. Of meiping form with a tall flared neck. Overglaze enamel decorated with birds and bats amongst a blossoming peach tree and rocky outcrop. Overglaze painted four character mark in iron red beneath. 17.8 in (45.3 cm) height.
Condition report: Professionally restored rim (UV checked). Very light surface wear with age and partially rubbed mark beneath.
