A RARE MID 20TH CENTURY CAPE BUFFALO SCULPTURE, RETAILED BY ROWLAND WARD
Signed by wildlife artist Terry (Terence) Owen Mathews, who's early clay and latex works were sold by Rowland Ward and featured in their 1960s catalogues. This piece is handmade with latex and kaolin over metal armature, with inset glass eyes and realistically hand painted. Terry is better known for his bonzes, many of which were acquired by some of the most prestigious collections in the US.
