Godwin (William, 1756-1836). An original manuscript letter, signed by William Godwin, dated 2nd July 1835, letter reads "Fate of the gods permitting, I will certainly have the pleasure of waiting on you Sunday next at five o'clock", 11.5cm x 18cm, letter tipped-in onto card for display purposes. William Godwin was a journalist, political philosopher and novelist. He was the father of Mary Shelley best known for writing Frankenstein.
