Berkshire Volunteer Rifles Victorian Officer waist belt clasp. Scarce brass, originally blackened interlocking example. Circlet inscribed BERKSHIRE VOLUNTEER RIFLES; centre bears star, the topmost point displaced by a crown (possibly an old replacement), on the star, 19 indicating the units precedence number in the Rifle Volunteers. Universal pattern rococo ends. Inside rim of circlet at 8 o’clock heavily worn from contact with centre.
