Medal of Honor 1867, Provincial Exhibition N.W.P. The Honble E.Drummond. Medal named to edge (Lieutt A.Oelivant Distt Suptt of Police). Silver gilt (43mm). This is possibly Alfred Ollivant born 2/8/1836, Lieut in 1867, promoted Captain 1869, Lt Col 1888, Col 1895, Died 1901. Bengal Staff Corps 'Col A Ollivant served during the Indian Mutiny, including a skirmish at Madrock, action near Agra, with the Neemuch mutineers on the 5th July, battle of Agra on the 10th Oct 1857: Bundlecund campaign in 1858-59, attack on Serowlie, and affair with Burgem Singh (medal)'. An interesting research piece !
