£640
A smokebox numberplate, 30368, from a London & South Western Railway 700 Class 0-6-0 No 715 built by Dubs & Co, Works No 3538, in June 1897 and renumbered 368 in August 1898, which number it retained in SR days, becoming BR 30368. It spent its BR days at Basingstoke from where it was withdrawn in December 1962, one of the last few of the class to go, and was cut up at Eastleigh Works. Notably it had some parts cut up at Eastleigh in late 1960 but, instead of being withdrawn, received parts from withdrawn 30687 to allow it to return to service for a further two years. The front repainted. (Postage Band: D)
