An original WWII Japanese Imperial Army officer's Shin-Gunto samurai full tang sword with red lacquer scabbard, and original wooden surrender tag (T. Takutsa...), the handle (tsuka) bound in silk thread and ray skin attached to the tang by a traditional bamboo peg. The tang has maker's signature and other identifying marks incised into the metal, a gilded brass tsuba and carved steel blade, approximately 39" long
