£1,400
A pair of George III Neo-classical silver candlesticks, probably John Schofield, London 1780, the tapered fluted stems above circular bases with beaded borders with engraved crest to cartouche, the tulip shaped sconces with detachable drip pans engraved with a griffin and conforming beaded rims, each approximately 29cm high, gross weight 32.52ozt (2)
Both show moderate scratching and wear throughout commensurate with age and use. There are small, minor dents peppered throughout to the bases and highpoints of the stems, sconces and drip pans. There are a few areas of piercing to areas of finer detail, but no large splits or signs of repair. Engraved crests show moderate wear. There are some gaps between the sconce and the drip pan.
