A George VI presentation naval officer's sword to Lieutenant Tommy Gould VC, with 31" fullered blade etched with crowned George VI cypher and Star of Judah, within roped oak wreath panels, regulation gilt hilt with crowned fouled anchor, lion's head pommel and backstrap, wire-bound fish skin grip, with blue and gilt knot and gilt-mounted leather scabbard, the locket engraved Presented to Lieut. T Gould, VC, RN by the Assn of Jewish Ex Servicemen and Women as a token of Esteem, 1949, the sword mounted on green baize in display case, with coloured photograph of Lt Gould wearing the VC and WWII medals, with submariner's badge, framed, 40.5 x 33cm. Tommy Gould was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions whilst serving in HM Submarine Thrasher off the north coast of Crete on the 16th February 1942.
