Very fine and exceedingly scarce gilt flaming grenade, the domed ball mounted with gilt laurel wreath bearing central silver BF cypher over gilt PEGU DELHI scroll. The base of the wreath with applied tri-part scroll PUNJAB CHILLIANWALLAH GOOJERAT. Two screw posts. VGC Became 2nd Bn. Royal Munster Fusiliers on Friday 1st July, 1881 whilst under the command of Lt. Col. John Gore Campbell. This actual piece is photographed as No. 938 in "Head-dress Badges of the British Army".
