£110
A George V Royal Artillery officer's dress sword by Hobson & Sons, London, with engraved blade, leather-covered scabbard and tan leather protective outer case (monogrammed "K.B.I.S.")
Grip and guard are very firm, with no play. Blade is tarnished over its length, particularly towards the tip. Guard is corroded in places; tarnished generally. Shagreen grip and wire binding is in generally good condition, though somewhat worn from handling with an inconsistency of colour.
Leather scabbard is worn from handling. Some stitching is weakened and splitting along the seam. At the tip, there is heavy wear and a tear to the leather.
Tan leather outer casing is rather dehydrated: cracked and torn in places; generally scuffed and worn. Leather straps are torn, with end pieces lost.
