1st Dumfries Rifle Volunteer Corps Victorian Scottish Officer's helmet plate badge circa 1881-87. Fine rare die-stamped silvered crowned star mounted with Garter and laurel sprays bearing scroll 1ST DUMFRIES R.V. CORPS; St. Michael and crook on A LORE BURN scroll to black velvet centre. Three loops. VGC 1st Dumfries RV became a VB of the Royal Scots Fusiliers on Friday 1st July 1881; transferred to King’s Own Scottish Borderers as their 3rd VB in May 1887.
