A George IV Coromandel wood dressing box by John and Archibald Douglas, London 1823, comprising; a leather travelling case, brass bound box with velvet and leather part fitted interior, four large strawberry cut glass bottles with silver plated decanter labels, a large circular jar, two long boxes, three rectangular boxes, a beaker, a circular box, a powder box with screw down lid and a hand mirror each with an applied engraved disc with M E with coronet above, traces of gilding, 713gms, (22.9ozs), gross weighable silver, (13 bottles and jars) The outer leather case stamped Countess Vane, probably relating to Mary Cornelia Edwards (daughter of Sir John Edwards of Garth) who married George Vane-Tempest in 1846.
