1698 King William III ex-mount silver Halfcrown with DECIMO edge and large shields (S 3494). Obverse: first draped bust wearing laurels and facing right, 'GVLIELMVS · III · DEI · GRA ·' around. Reverse: four crowned shields of royal arms arranged cruciform around the lion of the House of Orange within a cartouche in the centre, the angles plain. The date (1698) is divided by the English crown and precedes a legend that reads 'MAG BR · FRA ET · HIB REX ·'. Edge: raised lettering reads '· + · + · DECVS · ET · TVTAMEN · ANNO · REGNI · DECIMO · +'. Weight: 15.00g. Diameter: 33.9mm. Grade: aEF - ex-mount, otherwise about Extremely Fine.
