In the manner of Paul Follot (1877-1941) 1920's Art Deco French five-piece suite comprising three-seat sofa, two armchairs and two salon chairs, in figured walnut, upholstered in Pierre Frey fabric in 2005.  This suite was probably made in the Pomone Workshop of Bon Marche in Paris and may have appeared in the 1925 Decorative Arts Exhibition in Paris.  Known history of the suite: discovered by the vendor in the possession of an antique dealer in Paddington in the 1970's at which time it was dirty and covered in mid-green split silk velvet which was not original.  The dealer revealed it had been purchased in Hampstead from the estate of an elderly lady and he was told it had been in the family for some time.  The present owner cleaned the suite and used it for 20 years before reupholstering in 2005 with Pierre Frey art deco moquette in keeping with its original style.
