JOHN 'MAD JACK' FULLER (1757-1834), death, bronze medal, 1834, by William Wyon, bust right, Iegend within wreath, 45mm (BHM 1660), in modern Asprey leather case, extremely fine. Fuller, who had inherited a considerable fortune, was the Squire of Bightling, Sussex. He served as an MP from 1780-1812. He bought and saved Bodiam Castle, and is remembered for his several follies, including the pyramid, designed by Sir Robert Smirke, in Brightling churchyard, in which he is buried.
