A WWII George Medal awarded to Lieutenant Alexander Charles Thomas Royal Engineers, together with an unnamed MBE, Defence, 1939-1945 medal and star, not known if the medals are related. Wikipedia; "He was engaged for seven continuous days of intensive bomb disposal operations following the enemy air raids on Grimsby and Cleethorpes on 14 June 1943. This raid was the first of its kind (using butterfly bombs) and presented many new problems in bomb disposal.
