1689 (July 23) Entire letter from London addressed "For Charles Orchard Esq., Collector of theire Maties Customs at Exon, Devon", charged 3d with "JY/23" Bishop Mark. The letter concerns a patent, and a hearing before the Lords of the Navy. The Customs never had the franking privilege. The letter a little damp stained, the address panel fine.
