Late 1930s Spanish Civil War cap worn by Lieutenant Colonel Ferdinand Otto Miksche. Khaki cloth, thread red star, brass button and tassel.
Miksche (1904-1992) was a Czech Captain and military historian, awarded the Medal of Freedom and Order of the Colonial Empire, and the author of a number of works on European military history. He was sent as part of a Czech convoy to Spain during the Civil War, and served as a major in the artillery unit.
