This work was showcased in cartoon form in Punch Magazine in 1937, topically reproduced to coincide with the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in Punch's review of the Royal Academy's exhibition of 1937. The fact that the hugely popular and influential Punch used Scale's work to mark the most important occasion of the year, shows the growing admiration and esteem the artist was held in at the time.
