An Edwardian silver 'Mr Popple' chauffeur pepper pot, by Saunders and Shepherd, Chester, 1907, detailed with coat, hat and goggles, height 6cm, head removes for refilling.
Modelled upon the character of Mr Popple, a popular musical comedy called 'Mr Popple of Ippleton', which opened in November 1905 at the Apollo Theatre.
