A Late 19th Century Dark Mahogany Longcase Clock of Large Proportions, retailed by F. H. Wilbee of Herne Bay and dated 1898, with 14ins arched gilt brass and silvered dial, the chapter ring with raised brass Arabic numerals, the gilt dial centre engraved with leafage and with subsidiary seconds dial, with Whittington/Westminster and chime/silent dials to arch, to the eight day three train movement and with steel pendulum rod and mercury compensated cylindrical bob, three heavy plated metal cased weights and striking on nine plated cylindrical gongs, contained in dark mahogany case, the hood with bold fretted and carved leaf shell and scroll cresting, above deep moulded cornice, flanked by gilt brass fluted columns and with fretted side panels, trunk with arched door inset with bevelled glass panel, flanked by conforming brass fluted columns, the base with raised astragal moulding and moulded plinth base with block toes, 102ins high
