A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH ROTATING TAXIDERMY BIRD CLOCK, having hummingbirds perched on a central rotating blossoming branch above a gilt chapter ring raised on an ormolu mounted fruitwood base with fury lion paw feet, enclosing a spring-driven movement with balance wheel escapement. Originally there would have been a separate singing bird movement with bellows as there is a spare winding hole. The birds are mounted under a glass dome. (54cm high)
