A LARGE 19TH CENTURY QAJAR LACQUERED PAPIER-MACHE CASKET DEPICTING FATH’ALI SHAH AND HUNTING SCENES

This exquisite 19th-century Persian Qajar lacquered papier-mâché casket features a striking depiction of Fath’Ali Shah enthroned, surrounded by his courtiers in a detailed royal court scene on the lid. The sides of the casket are adorned with vivid hunting scenes, all meticulously hand-painted. The interior of the box is finished with a vibrant green lacquer and includes a fitted mirror inside the lid.
