CORFU 1804 (INWARD) - VERY EARLY USE OF THE CIRCULAR "POSTA/CORFV/SETTINSVLARE" MARK ON COVER EX VENICE - 20 Aug. 1804 EL from Venice to Corfu "Con. Capt. Casoliche" charged "3 [paras]" local postage on delivery with a partly fine circular "POSTA/CORFV/SETTINSVLARE" mark on the top flap; Zaphiriou records (1987; p.A147) only 27 of this mark in the 1804-07 period (not including this or the following lot), of which only one is earlier (25 July 1804).
