Sir David trained at Glasgow school of art , his career developed after 1886 when he became recognised throughout the UK. In the country of Constable shown at The Royal Academy in 1903was bought by the Chantrey Bequest. He was knighted in1918 and is represented in Aberdeen A.G. Glasgow A.G. Sydney, Edinburgh city collection.
