John Easten & Sons, Hull, a late Victorian mahogany bureau bookcase, the outswept pediment over a pair of unequal astragal glazed, enclosing shelves, over a roll top opening to reveal burr walnut and ebonised pigeon holes and drawers, tooled green leather writing slope, label to the underside, above a pair of paneled doors raised on a plinth base, reeded borders to the whole, 120 x 51 x 210cm.
Label John Easten & Sons, Market Place, Hull, inventory number G/15.
John Easten & Sons advertised itself as a linen draper, upholsterer, and carpet, paperhanging, bedstead and bedding dealer, their premises were at 8 Market Place, Hull, from 1867-1900.
