Elkington electrotype plaque, designed by Leonard Morel-Ladeuil (1820-88), depicting a Pompeian lady with attendees, maker's mark, signed and dated 1876, 33cm diameter, mounted within a later ebonised circular frame and glazed, overall diameter 49cm
NB: This model of plaque was conceived by Morel-Ladeuil for the 1876 Philadelphia Exhibition
Condition is good but for some spot tarnish. The plaque is sealed within its frame and is behind convex glass. The frame has some minor knocks and scrapes consistent with age.
