Cut out slab seal, very crisply & clearly impressed lettering, in ribbon above WILLIAM HODGSON and PRESTON/ 1862 below. Detailed coat of arms to centre. Hand thrown. Base nibbles, repaired lip, rear hairlines. George Baines Collection rear label.
AMENDED 29/9/21. Incorrectly catalogued as JAMES instead of WILLIAM. Despite the lip repait this is a very well struck & clean slab.
