VINTAGE TUDOR SUBMARINER REFERENCE 7016 CIRCA 1976 ROYAL NAVY DIVER WATCH, circular black service dial with snowflake hands, bi-directional divers bezel with a faded aluminium insert, 40mm stainless steel case, Rolex screw down crown, later Rolex 78360 stainless steel bracelet with a flip lock clasp, 580 end links, screw down case back, inner case back engraved "Montres Tudor SA", along with service marks, Tudor signed ETA based 2483 automatic movement, 25 jewels, the watch was purchase in 1976, featuring a service case from circa 1982, 964*** serial number, currently running. *Auctioneers Note: This is a one owner from new watch, the original owner wore the watch during his time in the Royal Navy, working as a diver on a Destroyer. A valuation archive states the watch had the dial replaced during a service in circa 1982. The watch also had the case replaced due to significant wear, which explains the later serial number to the original 1976. The watch was purchased in December 1976 in Sunderland. The owner states the box, papers and receipt were destroyed when there was a diesel spillage that flooded the messdeck of the destroyer, along with most of his clothing!
