A rather good Art Nouveau inkwell, on a tortoiseshell and silver stand with a silver topped glass well sitting on bun feet, HBA for J Batson & Son, London, 1899

silver rim on the tortoiseshell base is a bit loose in one corner and would benefit from fixing down, the lid of the inkwell doesn't close perfectly flush but this is not a major concern, on the whole this is a good quality lot in good order
