Revolver, an interesting Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver "Long Cylinder Conversion" for the .44 Calibre rim fire cartridge. Serial No: 23870 matching on all parts, barrel 4 3/4" with address "Col Saml Colt New York US America". Original Colt, one piece walnut grips (hand worn) owners initials "H.W." scratched into L/H grip. Rebated cylinder with matching S/N. "V" rear sight added, four screw frame, brass t/guard marked 23870, steel back strap cut for shoulder stock. Action tight & crisp on 1st and 2nd cock, good lock up. S/N indicates probable issue February 1864 to 6th New York Volunteer Cav. Dark smooth patina overall, small traces of nickel finish to frame. Obsolete Calibre, no licence required
