A Syrian Brass Lidded Bowl with Islamic Inscriptions.
The body and lid are finely engraved with intricate interlacing vegetal scrolls, cartouches, and roundels filled with Arabic calligraphy in elegant thuluth script. The inscriptions likely include blessings and Quranic verses and the lid features a raised central boss and an incised border, with a small drilled hole possibly for suspension or to secure the lid with a cord.
