Crash Mail. 1953 Cover to Bodden Town, Grand Cayman, waterstained with the stamps washed off, backstamped at Kingston, Jamaica (Apr 12). Recovered from the Caribbean International Airways April 10th flight from Kingston to Montego Bay and the Cayman Islands which crashed into the sea shortly after take off killing 13 passengers and crew. Not recorded by Nierinck although one other cover is recorded (lot 286 in our 10th March 2022 auction, sold for £220). Very scarce.
