A worksplate, GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY BUILDERS 1913 GORTON WORKS, from a GCR Class 8K, LNER O4 Class, 2-8-0, built at Gorton in July 1913, GCR No 381, numbered 5381 by the LNER, renumbered 3606 in 1946, becoming BR 63606. A long time Frodingham loco, it was withdrawn from there on 13 June 1965 and sold for scrap to Cox & Danks at Wadsley Bridge. Cast brass, 9¾"x5¼", the front of the plate has been repainted, the back is stamped with the engine number. (Postage Band: B)
