An 18 carat gold cased pocket watch by Richard Ganthony of Cheapside, London, marked No 5399 on both mechanism and case, hallmarked for London, date letter partially polished away but appears to be 1841, the maker's mark for Robert Rowland of Meredith St, Clerkenwell. Key wind and set, in running order, supplied in original carry case. Appears to be a silver dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. Inner cover inscribed 'Sybylla M Lane Shrubb born 26th Sept 1842 died 22nd Jan 1912', the death inscription in a very slightly different font. Watch weight approx 54.6g.
