£120 - £180
AN EDWARDIAN SILVER DRESSING TABLE BOX, maker's mark mis-struck (HS?), Birmingham 1904, of rounded oblong form, the hinged cover repousse with art nouveau style flowers enclosing a vacant panel, opening to reveal the original velvet and silk lined fitted interior, the sides chased with entrelacs and raised upon four scroll feet, 4 1/2" wide, together with a scent bottle holder, maker Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, London probably 1901, of shaped circular form, the central band chased and pierced with two cherubs, one hunting with a hound, the other blowing a horn, the hinged base with clasp, 4 3/4" high, bottle 3ozs 5dwts (2) (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)
Box hinge has sprung and so lid does not close correctly and has a few pin prick dents, interior a little grubby and requires attention. Bottle appears to be good with no obvious damages, marks somewhat rubbed, presumably no cover as this would be glass for the inserted bottle
