A finely carved 19th century Chinese model of a qilin-style creature with bifid tail; the front legs raised upon shaped supports below which a small cub rests, open-mouthed and with long, carved, flowing mane, the animal rests upon a pierced openwork base, of good colour and patination (minus one glass eye) (12.5cm high)
